About Solarwatt
Solarwatt is a German manufacturer and supplier of photovoltaic systems. It produces and sells all the essential components for self-sufficiency in solar power. This includes the energy generation of photovoltaic modules, energy management within the home, and local storage of the generated solar power via battery storage systems.
The Vision 60M solar module, 305 - 320 watts, partial transparency of approximately 10%
In 2014, Solarwatt launched the first photovoltaic module with general building approval (abZ) . It was a veranda and carport module with 36 cells.
In 2020, Solarwatt introduced the successor model Vision 60M with a approval (abZ) of 305 to 320 watts. This glass-glass module is considered a regulated building product throughout Germany and can be used without restriction in both private and public sectors. Therefore, a separate building permit is not required.

For SOLARWATT Managing Director Detlef Neuhaus, this once again underlines the innovative strength of the Dresden-based company: “We are now at the forefront again when it comes to obtaining building code approval for a standard-sized module. The general building approval (abZ) for the 60-cell module immediately opens up entirely new areas of application for us, such as industrial roofs or parking lot canopies.”
The SOLARWATT Vision 60M construct module is ideally suited for overhead installation – for example, in parking garages, at gas stations, and for carport or veranda roofs. Installation can be carried out without the additional safety measures required for other modules, such as steel mesh. “This not only saves project developers and installers time and money, but also improves the aesthetic appearance,” emphasizes Neuhaus. The glass-glass module can completely replace the roof membrane if needed, which significantly reduces installation costs and the amount of building materials required. Furthermore, the standard PV module's transparency of approximately ten percent allows for shading without complete blackout.

For over two years, Solarwatt has offered the Vision 60M construct, a glass-glass solar module with general building authority approval (abZ), which can be used for solar parking lot canopies and facades without additional safety measures. Now, the Dresden-based photovoltaic provider is launching a successor model, which also has abZ approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
