The demand for solar carports for company parking lots and open parking areas is growing, as the solar obligation and the sensible use of sealed surfaces are becoming increasingly important topics.

Commercial solar carports have different requirements for installation and materials. While single or double carports for private individuals don't involve much organizational or technical effort, the situation is quite different for a parking lot with, for example, 75 parking spaces or more. There are generally numerous pitfalls to avoid when building carports. For large parking areas, a carport from a DIY store or so-called designer carports won't suffice. These typically use solid wood or softwood as construction timber (construction timber) such as spruce, fir, larch, pine, or Douglas fir.
Compared to aluminum or steel, wood is very susceptible to weathering and therefore requires regular and extensive maintenance. For large solar parks, only steel structures are suitable. They can last for many decades. Occasional cleaning is sufficient, they are stable, and, most importantly, can withstand heavy snow loads.
Besides the correct foundation, structural integrity, and roof slope orientation for the photovoltaic system, several other points need to be considered during the planning phase: How many charging stations are required, what is the energy load profile, and what are the technical connection requirements? Then, the vehicle idle times must also be calculated, and finally, the total photovoltaic output must be determined.
Which solar carport system is recommended?
“There are already many good approaches. But none are like the HELIOS Carport System from T.Werk GmbH in Ellzee . It is suitable for individual solar carports as well as for large company or public parking lots, can be flexibly used as an additional solar charging station, and, above all, is plannable.”
As with all its products, T.Werk prioritizes high quality, quick assembly, and flexible application, which ultimately pays off. This is also true for the HELIOS carport from T.Werk , where planning reliability is paramount, preventing costly corrections and retrofits.
Suitable for:
