My article “ Top 100 SEO Not So Top After All ” from February 12, 2021, seems to have opened a can of worms. The response ranged from agreement to disagreement. As expected, the latter was most common. The trigger was probably that a few people used my article as a starting point to reassess their SEO performance. And no, I didn't use my article as an excuse to accept SEO contracts. SEO hasn't been a business model for me for a long time.
The most frequent search term was “SEO criticism”, which is how my article was found on Google:
The article is currently ranked second for these search terms. Further top ten rankings can be found for other search terms.
But I have now had to face some justified criticism. Apparently, I deliberately omitted the rest of my screenshot
which states: “Core Web Vitals test failed”.
Whether it was intentional or not, it's now a case of one person's word against another's. The best solution, of course, is to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
And to make sure everyone understands correctly, for me only the mobile version is relevant now, because Google has made mobile-first indexing the standard for all websites. This means that in the future, Google will only use the mobile version for ranking purposes.

Why are these “Core Web Vitals” so important?
Searchmetrics reports that currently less than 3% of the 2 million websites they analyzed achieve good results in Google's Core Web Vitals metrics. The LCP, FID, and FLS metrics will significantly influence organic rankings as a basis for evaluation.
Searchmetrics itself is one of the best-known and most powerful content performance platforms with strong monitoring and reporting functions.

SEO problem fixed!
Well, in the meantime I've fixed the SEO problem with the "Core Web Vitals" and this is what it looks like in my Google Search Console now:
Google Page Speed it says : “The Chrome user experience report does not contain enough actual speed data for this page.”
This simply means that my website is too small for Google to generate data from its traffic for the user experience in Chrome. That's reserved for popular websites.
Since my Xpert.Digital blog focuses purely on B2B and specialized topics, my target audience is also correspondingly segmented.
My performance and area of responsibility
If I had the time, I could certainly achieve much more and expand my expertise here. However, I've specialized in providing in-house interim management solutions. This often involves crisis management during leadership absences or when things are really going wrong within a company. And yes, you might actually catch me working on SEO if I'm responsible for SEO as part of a strategy realignment. But then I bring in the right SEO specialists. It's always beneficial to be able to talk to experts on an equal footing.
That's why Xpert.Digital!
