Games: analogue versus digital

The SPIEL 2018 trade fair opens its doors on Thursday. More than 1,000 national and international exhibitors will be represented in Essen. The exhibition will feature board games of all kinds: children's, party, family, and adult games – as well as strategy, postal, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, and computer games. According to the Consumer and Media Analysis (VuMA), board and party games are played by two-thirds of all Germans. Computer and video games, on the other hand, are "only" relevant for around 43 percent. However, the number of intensive gamers (playing several times a month or more) is significantly higher.
