The 250 most successful retail companies worldwide generated a total revenue of approximately 4.5 trillion US dollars in 2017. Two German retailers are also represented Deloitte
The Schwarz Group, which includes Lidl and Kaufland, generated approximately US$111.8 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2017. This places it fifth, directly behind Amazon (US$118.6 billion). Aldi, with an estimated revenue of US$98.3 billion, came in eighth. The most successful company in terms of revenue is the American firm Walmart (approximately US$500 billion in annual revenue), as the graphic shows.
Growth champion Amazon is expected to further improve its position this year, according to Deloitte.

The Schwarz Group, to which Lidl and Kaufland belong, generated around 111.8 billion US dollars in the 2017 financial year. This puts it in fifth place, directly after Amazon (USD 118.6 billion). With an estimated turnover of 98.3 billion US dollars, Aldi made it to 8th place in the ranking. The most successful in terms of turnover is the American company Wal-Mart (around USD 500 billion annual turnover), as the chart shows.
