Why US Homeowners Want Solar Power

More and more US homeowners are turning to alternative energy sources as unease about global climate change grows. According to a new Pew Research Center conducted from October 1-13, 2019, environmental protection and savings on utility bills are the top reasons people are considering solar panels. The survey polled more than 3,600 adults.

Time magazine highlighted climate change by naming Greta Thunberg, the teenage activist who launched the global Fridays for Future movement, its Person of the Year. She refuses to fly, has met with the Pope, addressed the United Nations, and clashed with President Donald Trump. Most famously, however, she inspired more than 4 million people to participate in a global climate strike in September.
