Human communication with artificial intelligence is increasing. The proliferation of voice assistants and voice control systems in a wide range of electronics has accelerated this trend. According to a survey commissioned by the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), such voice control applications are now used by approximately one in five respondents, most often in connection with mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs (64 percent).
As our infographic shows, many users also give voice commands to televisions (33 percent) or cars (27 percent) or retrieve information. Relatively new and, at 15 percent, still the least used, is voice control in the digitized home. Lights on!
