AI has the potential over 130,000 jobs in more than 80 professions in the US over the next ten years, according to a new study by the Partnership for Public Service and the IBM Center for Business of Government. The agencies and positions most affected by this change are in the financial sector, such as the Department of the Treasury.
Approximately 20,000 IRS (Internal Revenue Service) tax auditors and agents are expected to be affected by artificial intelligence within the next decade. Budget analysts and accountants are the next two roles expected to be significantly impacted by the further integration of artificial intelligence.
While the adoption of AI is expected to lead to major changes in the US federal government, not every industry anticipates dramatic job losses to the same extent. Many marketing and advertising agencies do not view AI as a human replacement tool, although CEOs across a wide range of industries are grappling with precisely this question: how will artificial intelligence impact the job market?
