It could all be so wonderful: Those buying Christmas presents no longer need to struggle through crowded shopping streets, but can order everything online with just a few clicks. But then, for many, the trouble begins. Sometimes the package is damaged in transit, sometimes it arrives far too late. The market and opinion research institute YouGov asked what annoys Germans most about package delivery.
The biggest annoyance, according to the survey, is when a package is left with a neighbor even though the recipient was home. One in three respondents (30 percent) finds this anything but amusing. Another source of frustration is when the delivery driver fails to leave a notification card after a failed delivery attempt – 27 percent of respondents are annoyed by this, as the graphic shows. Other sources of irritation include poor German language skills and unfriendly behavior from delivery drivers, according to the YouGov survey .
Parcel delivery services are particularly busy during the pre-Christmas period. Therefore, anyone who wants to be absolutely sure that all Christmas presents arrive on time is better off shopping in brick-and-mortar stores during this time.
