T.Werk presents virtual solar park using 360-degree technology at the Intersolar trade fair

Virtual and augmented reality are being used more and more frequently at trade fairs. The technology has advanced and become so widespread that its use is no longer limited to industry giants. Plant engineering company T.Werk used this method to present visitors to its booth with new insights into its Silenos open-field assembly system.

The use of virtual presentation technologies at trade fairs is spreading rapidly in Germany. It's no longer just technology leaders from the IT, media, or automotive industries who are presenting their products to booth visitors in an engaging and immersive way using animated worlds. On the contrary, more and more companies from a wide range of sectors have recognized the opportunities offered by this future technology. This is hardly surprising, as virtual, augmented, and their hybrid form, mixed reality, are ideally suited for space-saving and informatively interactive presentations of product ranges. Whether companies in the pharmaceutical or consumer goods sectors, manufacturing, or mechanical and plant engineering, a diverse range of businesses are taking advantage of the many possibilities that virtual presentations offer.

T.Werk GmbH, a specialist in mounting systems from Ellzee, Bavaria, offered visitors to this year's Intersolar Europe in Munich entirely new insights into the systems they build, using the Silenos open-field mounting system as an example. Founded in 2012, T.Werk GmbH focuses on mounting systems for roofs and open-field installations, as well as customized solutions and related services such as structural calculations and soil surveys.

At the leading trade fair for the solar industry, visitors to the T.Werk booth could take a virtual tour of a solar park using 3D glasses. Specifically for use at the trade fair and for presentations to customers, T.Werk filmed the 3-megawatt solar park in Sontheim, Baden-Württemberg, which was recently built under the company's leadership, using a 360-degree camera.

Using virtual and augmented reality presentations, visitors could walk around the entire facility and examine the system's piles, support rails, crossbeams, struts, and module clamps in detail. This new type of presentation provides interested parties with a highly detailed and vivid picture of the facilities. Interactive features, such as the ability to freely choose the viewing angle, present the facility in an engaging way, increasing user interest and learning through improved visualization.
