☀️🔌 Clees Group is building an innovative large-scale photovoltaic plant in Wuppertal-Elberfeld
☀️ The Clees Group, a renowned real estate company based in Düsseldorf, is making a strong statement for the energy transition in Wuppertal. A photovoltaic system with an impressive output of around 300 kWp is being installed on the roof of the Wicküler City shopping center in Wuppertal-Elberfeld. This initiative not only underscores the group's commitment to sustainable energy but also marks an important step towards an environmentally friendly future for the region.
The photovoltaic system is being installed by solar-Q GmbH from Mönchengladbach, a subsidiary of the Dornieden Group, which specializes in the planning and implementation of such large-scale projects. The system will consist of 700 solar modules, which are expected to produce approximately 255,000 kWh of electricity annually. This output corresponds to a saving of about 112 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the positive impact of planting over 5,000 trees. A large portion of the generated electricity will be supplied directly to the tenants of the building at Friedrich-Engels-Allee 28, allowing them to benefit from cost-effective, locally produced electricity. Surplus electricity will be fed into the Wuppertal municipal utility (WSW) grid to help meet the city's overall energy needs.
🌞 Photovoltaics as the key to the energy transition
The importance of photovoltaic systems for the future energy supply cannot be overstated. With the ongoing energy transition and the goal of continuously increasing the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix, solar power systems play a crucial role. In Germany, which has set itself ambitious climate targets, the share of solar energy is expected to increase significantly by 2030. With this project, the Clees Group is actively contributing to achieving these goals and demonstrating to other companies how the transition to renewable energies can be implemented profitably and sustainably.
🏢 Wicküler City: A shopping center that serves as a model
The Wicküler City shopping center, owned by the Clees Group, houses a variety of retail and office tenants. Among its best-known tenants are the sporting goods retailer Decathlon, the electronics company MediaMarkt, and the House of Integration, which includes the job center and the Department for Immigration and Integration. The new photovoltaic system will ensure that these tenants benefit not only from a cost-effective but also an environmentally friendly energy supply.
🌱 Sustainability as a strategic corporate goal
The Clees Group has made sustainability and long-term value creation its strategic corporate goals. The company, which has been active in the real estate sector for over four decades, has established itself as a reliable partner for cities, tenants, and investors. In addition to residential properties, the group's portfolio also includes shopping centers, office buildings, and commercial properties. The group places great emphasis on the revitalization of brownfield sites and the preservation of urban structures in order to create modern and environmentally friendly uses.
🔮 Future prospects and further projects
With the successful completion of the photovoltaic system in Wuppertal, the Clees Group has launched further sustainable projects. "The energy transition is not only a challenge, but also offers immense opportunities for companies that actively shape this transformation," says Alexander Clees. "This system is intended to be just the beginning of many more projects to actively support the energy transition."
🌟 Exemplary of commitment
The photovoltaic system in Wuppertal-Elberfeld is a pioneering project of both ecological and economic significance. It exemplifies the Clees Group's commitment to actively driving the energy transition while simultaneously offering its tenants attractive economic benefits. With solar-Q GmbH, the company has an experienced partner at its side, ensuring the successful implementation of the project and laying the foundation for further sustainable initiatives.
