A trend is emerging in the US that could become a problem for Facebook. Of approximately 3,400 Facebook users surveyed by the Pew Research Center in the US, 42 percent reported having suspended their use of the social network for several weeks or more in the past year. One in four respondents stated that they had deleted the app from their smartphone. This could have serious financial consequences for Facebook, as North America, with only 11 percent of the user base, accounts for 47 percent of its revenue.
