Yesterday, Amazon stock briefly reached a value of one trillion US dollars – a feat also achieved by Apple. The chart illustrates the enormous increase in the stock's value over the years. Ten shares purchased for 180 US dollars at the company's IPO in 1997 are now worth approximately 245,000 US dollars – an increase of 135,867 percent.
