How tech giants make the most money

Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook are among the world's largest companies. Together, these five tech giants generated nearly $650 billion in revenue last year. The graphic illustrates which products and services account for the majority of their sales. It also reveals that not all of the companies are equally dependent on their primary revenue stream. For example, Facebook generates 98 percent of its revenue from advertising, while software accounts for "only" 62 percent of Microsoft's revenue.
