More than 100 criteria are considered across five categories, including management's support for innovation, the innovation climate, innovative processes and methods, external orientation/open innovation, and innovation success. To ensure equal opportunities for companies of different sizes, the TOP 100 seal is awarded in three different categories based on the number of employees: up to 50 employees, between 51 and 200 employees, and more than 200 employees. This allows smaller, agile start-ups as well as established medium-sized companies and larger market leaders to demonstrate their innovative strength.
