Facebook is more effective in advertising than traditional media

One in four internet users (24 percent) in Germany has already purchased a product or used a service because a company advertised it on Facebook. This is according to the 2017/2018 Social Media Atlas by Faktenkontor. This makes social networks slightly more effective than television for advertising. YouTube commercials are also on par with traditional media. "Companies can now boost their sales just as effectively with social media communication and advertising in Web 2.0 as with advertising in traditional media," says Dr. Roland Heintze, Managing Partner and Social Media Expert at Faktenkontor.
