Artificial intelligence is being used in the unglamorous but practical world of back-office tasks to streamline business decisions and enhance security. According to a survey by Technalysis, approximately 70 percent of respondents involved in developing, piloting, or deploying AI applications used the systems to improve data and network security within their organizations. Around two-thirds of respondents indicated they were developing their AI capabilities around business intelligence, an additional efficiency measure within the office decision-making process.
Another common theme in company-wide AI implementation was the improvement and analysis of customer interactions. Approximately 67 percent of respondents used AI for web and social media analytics, while almost as many used AI for call center and chatbot support.
These findings align with other predictions about which types of jobs AI is most likely to impact in the near future. An overview of U.S. federal government jobs most likely to be affected by AI by 2030 includes administrative roles such as IRS tax auditors, accountants, and certified public accountants.
