77% of internet users in Germany shop online

77 percent of internet users in Germany shop online. This is according to a recent press release from the Federal Statistical Office. Of the online shoppers in the first quarter of 2018, just under half (46 percent) spent between €100 and €500 on goods and services online. Around 14 percent spent €500 or more. By far the most popular categories are clothing and shoes (67 percent), furniture, toys, and other consumer goods (52 percent), and vacation accommodations (42 percent).
