Deutschland hängt beim Thema Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) hinterher. Das geht aus dem kürzlich veröffentlichten VDE Tec Report 2019 hervor. Demnach ist nur ein Prozent der für die Studie befragten Mitgliedsunternehmen und Hochschulen der Elektro- und Informationstechnik der Meinung, dass Deutschland in Punkto KI eine Vorreiterrolle einnimmt. Auch für Europa als ganzes sehen die Befragten eher schwarz. Ganz vorne dabei sind dagegen Nordamerika und China. Ursachen für diese wenig schmeichelhafte Standortbeschreibung gibt es viele, zum Beispiele fehlende finanzielle Mittel.„Über die Hälfte der Unternehmen und Hochschulen bemängeln, dass es in Deutschland und Europa nicht genügend Mittel für die Umsetzung revolutionärer technischer Veränderungen gibt“, sagt VDE-Chef Hinz.

According to the report, only one percent of the member companies and universities of electrical engineering and information technology surveyed for the study believe that Germany is playing a pioneering role when it comes to AI. For Europe as a whole, too, the interviewees tend to think the picture is black. North America and China, on the other hand, are at the forefront. More than half of the companies and universities complain that there are not enough funds in Germany and Europe for the implementation of revolutionary technical changes,“ says VDE boss Hinz.
