Das chinesische Unternehmen Jinko Solar hat 2019 rund 4,3 Milliarden US-Dollar Umsatz mit dem Verkauf von Photovoltaik und Einspeisungssystemen gemacht. Mit Canadian Solar, JA Solar und Yingli gehören noch drei weitere zumindest teilweise chinesische Unternehmen zu den umsatzstärksten Solarkonzernen weltweit, wie die Statista-Grafik zeigt. Auch die deutsche Firma SMA Solar Technology konnte 2019 einen Umsatz von über einer Milliarde US-Dollar erwirtschaften.
Der Anteil von Solarenergie an der gesamten Stromerzeugung aus erneuerbaren Energiequellen steigt jährlich an. Im Gegensatz zu etwa Windenergie benötigen Photovoltaikanlagen keinen großen Bauaufwand, da sie einfach auf Dächern bestehender oder neuer Bauten platziert werden können. Das ist auch der Plan von Bayerns Ministerpräsident Markus Söder – er hat entschieden, dass schon ab 2021 auf jedem Neubau in Bayern Photovoltaik installiert werden soll. Die Vorgaben gelten vorerst nur für gewerbliche Bauten, ab 2022 soll dies auch für private Bauvorhaben verpflichtend gelten.

The share of solar energy in total power generation from renewable energy sources is increasing every year. In contrast to wind energy, for example, photovoltaic systems do not require a lot of construction work, as they can be easily placed on the roofs of existing or new buildings. This is also the plan of Bavaria’s Minister-President Markus Söder – he has decided that photovoltaic systems should be installed on every new building in Bavaria as early as 2021. For the time being, the specifications only apply to commercial buildings, but from 2022 this will also be mandatory for private construction projects.
