Logistik: 2020 stagnierte der Umsatz

Das Jahr 2020 war für die meisten Logistikunternehmen weltweit wenig erfolgreich. Viele Logistiker haben, wenn überhaupt, nur leichte Umsatzveränderungen im Vergleich zum Vorjahr vernommen. Nicht etwa die Deutsche Post DHL Group – der größte deutsche Logistikkonzern konnte den Umsatz 2020 immerhin um 3,5 Milliarden Euro gegenüber 2019 steigern. Auch die DSV Panalpina (15,6 Mrd. Euro) und die US-amerikanischen Expeditors (10,1 Mrd. Euro) weisen ein Umsatzwachstum von 26 beziehungsweise 19 Prozent auf, wie die Statista-Grafik zeigt.

Für die Deutsche Post geht es auch in 2021 gewinnbringend weiter. Der Logistikkonzern meldet einen Rekordgewinn von 1,9 Milliarden Euro im ersten Quartal und damit mehr als dreimal so viel wie im Vorjahreszeitraum. Vor allem weil sich die Auftragslage für Deutsche Post und DHL während der Pandemie auf einem gleichbleibend hohen Niveau befindet.

Logistics: Sales stagnated in 2020

The year 2020 was not very successful for most logistics companies worldwide. Many logistics companies heard only slight changes in revenue, if any, compared to the previous year. Not Deutsche Post DHL Group, for example – Germany’s largest logistics group still managed to increase revenue by 3.5 billion euros in 2020 compared to 2019. DSV Panalpina (15.6 billion euros) and U.S.-based Expeditors (10.1 billion euros) also posted revenue growth of 26 and 19 percent, respectively, as the Statista chart shows.

For Deutsche Post, things will continue to be profitable in 2021. The logistics group reported a record profit of 1.9 billion euros in the first quarter, more than three times as much as in the same period last year. This is mainly because the order situation for Deutsche Post and DHL has remained at a consistently high level during the pandemic.
