Deutsche Post wants to increase letter postage more than previously announced. According to media reports, the 80 cents per letter planned for 2019 has become 85 to 90 cents per standard shipment. For many, this is a reason to look for alternatives. As the graphic shows, DHL is still the top dog in the courier express parcel services market. The biggest competitor is Hermes, but with only 30 percent and therefore almost half of DHL's market share. DPD, UPS and GLS are at the bottom of the pack with just a few percent.
