Electric vehicles are on the rise. The topic of the solar requirement for solar carports and also the coming end of combustion vehicles as well as the further increased environmental bonus are driving the market.

In Baden-Württemberg, this is now legally stipulated in the solar requirement for open parking spaces with 75 or more spaces, both for private and company parking spaces. There is no alternative as with the requirement for photovoltaic systems for new non-residential buildings. Photovoltaic systems cannot be installed as a substitute on other outdoor areas or in their immediate surroundings and the area used as a result cannot be counted towards the fulfillment of the obligation.

Did you know that the greatest interest in a solar system comes from small towns with 5,000 to under 20,000 residents?

According to projections, around 3.31 million people in Germany were definitely planning to modernize or purchase a new solar system/photovoltaic system in 2020. In this group of people, around 33.2 percent of the people lived in a place with 5,000 to fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. This applied to around 26.6 percent of the population. This also applies to people with a household net income of 5,000 euros and more. The proportion here is 37.1%.

But this mainly applies to solar systems for the roof or garage roof. Gasoline and diesel vehicles will no longer be manufactured in the near future, so the increase in electric vehicles is the logical consequence. A clear increase in the number of electric cars can already be seen based on the latest first registrations. While the proportion of electric cars sold has been rather hesitant in recent years, the electric car market is now experiencing an enormous increase, which has been driven further by the increased environmental bonus, especially in the wake of the Corona pandemic.

In a survey in 2016, 21% of those surveyed said they had a positive attitude towards the environmental bonus. 28 percent of those surveyed said they had a rather positive attitude towards the environmental bonus.

The statistics show the results of a survey from October 2016 on attitudes to the state environmental bonus for electric vehicles in Germany. 1,001 people who own at least one car for which they also take care of insurance and maintenance were surveyed. The purchase (purchase or leasing) of an electric vehicle that is registered for the first time and does not exceed a net list price of the basic model of 60,000 euros is eligible for funding. The premium is borne equally by the federal government and half by the automobile manufacturer. 28 percent of those surveyed said they had a rather positive attitude towards the environmental bonus.

This statistic shows the amount of the purchase bonus for electric vehicles, which is also known as the environmental bonus, by type of electric vehicle drive in Germany in 2020. The purchase (purchase or leasing) of an electric vehicle and corresponding used vehicles are eligible. The premium is borne proportionately by the federal government and the automobile manufacturer. The environmental bonus for pure battery electric vehicles with a net list price of up to 40,000 euros amounted to 9,000 euros per vehicle in 2020.

The funding rates stated apply retroactively to those approved from June 4th. According to BAFA, pure electric cars, plug-in hybrids and fuel cell cars as well as corresponding used vehicles are eligible for funding.
