Roof penetration-free cross rail system for pitched roofs (5°-30°) with bitumen or foil covering

Sloped gable and monopitch roofs, which are designed with bitumen or foil covering, have so far been difficult or very difficult to implement without roof penetration. With the new METIS mounting system from T.Werk, you can now easily implement PV projects on these roofs. The modules are installed parallel to the roof in a cross-rail system with ballasting. Roof penetration is not necessary for this. The modules simply need to be additionally secured against slipping (slope drift) on the ridge or eaves.
- Thanks to a wind report at the IFI Institute in Aachen, the necessary ballasting could be reduced to a minimum.
Securing against slipping is project-specific and cannot be answered in general terms.
The following options are available:
- When the roof surfaces are oriented east/west, the module fields on each side of the roof lift each other up. Actio = Reactio. The downhill forces then balance each other out. Execution using aluminum flat material or aluminum perforated tape.
- Attachment to an attic. For example, by using an aluminum rail with screw anchors, hanger screws or dowels. The module field is then secured to this rail with flat aluminum material or aluminum perforated tape.
- Attachment to the ridge or ridge purlin. Similar to the attachment as with the parapet, only here we need hanger screws or solar fasteners and then have to seal them accordingly. Roof penetration is then required at a few points.
- Specific special solutions that can only be shown after the project has been viewed.
As a partner of T.Werk, we are happy to support you with the planning and design of the system.
