☀️🔌 Clee's group of companies is building an innovative large-scale photovoltaic system in Wuppertal-Elberfeld
☀️ The Clees Group, a renowned real estate company based in Düsseldorf, is sending a strong signal for the energy transition in Wuppertal. A photovoltaic system with an impressive output of around 300 kWp is being built on the roof of the Wicküler City shopping center in Wuppertal-Elberfeld. This initiative not only underlines the group's commitment to sustainable energy, but also marks an important step towards an environmentally friendly future for the region.
The installation of the photovoltaic system is carried out by solar-Q GmbH from Mönchengladbach, a subsidiary of the Dornieden Group that specializes in the planning and implementation of such large-scale projects. The system will consist of 700 solar modules that will produce around 255,000 kWh of electricity annually. This performance corresponds to a saving of around 112 tonnes of CO2 per year, which corresponds to the positive effect of over 5,000 trees. A large part of the electricity generated is delivered directly to the tenants of the building at Friedrich-Engels-Allee 28, who can thus benefit from inexpensive and locally produced electricity. Excess electricity is fed into the Wuppertaler Stadtwerke (WSW) network in order to cover the city's general energy needs.
🌞 Photovoltaics as the key to the energy transition
The importance of photovoltaic systems for future energy supply cannot be emphasized enough. With the ongoing energy transition and the goal of continually increasing the share of renewable energies in the electricity mix, solar systems play a crucial role. In Germany, which has set ambitious climate goals, the share of solar energy is expected to increase significantly by 2030. With this project, the Clees Group is actively contributing to achieving these goals and is also showing other companies how the switch to renewable energies can be implemented profitably and sustainably.
🏢 Wicküler City: A shopping center with a role model function
The Wicküler City shopping center, owned by the Clees Group, is home to a variety of retail and office users. The best-known tenants include the sports retailer Decathlon, the electronics group MediaMarkt and the House of Integration, which houses, among other things, the job center and the department for immigration and integration. The new photovoltaic system will ensure that these tenants not only benefit from a cost-effective but also an environmentally friendly energy supply.
🌱 Sustainability as a strategic corporate goal
The Clees Group has set sustainability and long-term value creation as strategic corporate goals. The company, which has been active in the real estate industry for over four decades, has established itself as a reliable partner for cities, tenants and investors. In addition to residential properties, the group's portfolio also includes shopping centers, office buildings and commercial properties. The group of companies attaches great importance to the revitalization of industrial wastelands and the preservation of urban structures in order to create modern and environmentally friendly uses.
🔮 Future prospects and further projects
With the successful implementation of the photovoltaic system in Wuppertal, the starting signal for further sustainable projects has been given for the Clees Group. “The energy transition is not only a challenge, but also offers immense opportunities for companies that actively shape the change,” says Alexander Clees. “This system should only be the start for many more to actively support the energy transition.”
🌟 An example of commitment
The photovoltaic system in Wuppertal-Elberfeld is a groundbreaking project that is both ecologically and economically important. It exemplifies the commitment of the Clees Group to actively promote the energy transition while at the same time offering its tenants attractive economic benefits. With solar-Q GmbH, the company has an experienced partner at its side who is successfully implementing the project and laying the foundation for further sustainable initiatives.
