Lighter, more resilient, easier to install: The new Schletter pitched roof system 'ProLine'
The global solar assembly manufacturer Schletter Group is bringing a completely new pitched roof system onto the market: thanks to new profile geometries and connecting elements, the “ProLine” system is lighter, more resilient and easier to install than its predecessor. The new product line is now available in Europe and will also be available in international markets in the next few months.
“Yield optimization continues to be the trend in the PV industry. For assembly systems, this means: less material with the same or better load capacity and shorter assembly times thanks to easier planning and handling on the construction site,” explains Manuel Schwarzmaier, sales manager for roof products at the Schletter Group. “We designed our new ‘ProLine’ pitched roof system from the ground up with this objective in mind.”
Light and highly resilient: the new profile geometry
A core part of the system is the newly developed mounting profile. Its optimized geometry enables less material to be used than with previous Schletter standard profiles. At the same time, the profile can cope with higher loads. The profile is available in three versions: with 35 mm height for smaller spans, 50 mm height for medium and large spans, and with 70 mm height for large spans.
Clip in and you're done: the EcoA and RapidA roof hooks
The new generation of roof hooks “EcoA” and “RapidA” ensure the connection to the roof.
The special thing: only one Torx T40 washer head screw is required to attach it to the rafters. This first attaches the base plate to the roof rafters. The base plate has cross ribs on the underside that effectively prevent twisting. If necessary, spacer plates under the base ensure height compensation. In the next step, the roof hook is clicked into place using a unique mechanism. The position of the roof hooks on the transverse axis can be chosen arbitrarily if necessary. In this way, the hooks can be attached flexibly and quickly to the roof structure.
One-size-fits-all: the RapidPro universal module clamp
Simple and quick assembly is also the main feature of the “RapidPro” module clamp, which is tailored to the new profiles. According to the “one-size-fits-all” principle, all common module sizes with frame heights between 30 and 47 mm can be attached in the future. The fully pre-assembled clamp is clipped into the upper groove of the profile and then secured with an M8x40 screw. The clamp is available in natural aluminum and black anodized.

T.Werk is expanding its PV mounting solutions for pitched roofs
The manufacturer T.Werk has brought the ZELOS solar mounting system for pitched roofs onto the market. With the new mounting rail and the flexible roof hook, the manufacturer is expanding its successful CHRONOS product family. Thanks to their innovative click profile in the upper channel, solar modules can be attached particularly quickly and securely to pitched and tiled roofs.
Optimized cross section of the mounting rail saves material
The ZELOS profile made of aluminum is available in lengths of either 3.15 meters, 5.15 meters or 6.15 meters and can be used universally thanks to the various channels and connections.
“Compared to the previous model, the ZELOS mounting rail is significantly cheaper because we were able to save a lot of material thanks to the optimized cross section,” explains T.Werk managing director Markus Ziegler. The rail is designed for cross-connection and can easily withstand normal snow loads on corrugated and pitched roofs. T.Werk offers a twelve-year guarantee on the ZELOS assembly system.
Statically improved roof hook for any roof shape
Also new to the product portfolio is the ALU VAR roof hook. Thanks to the ten holes in the base plate, ALU VAR can be used flexibly on any roof shape. The roof hook can be adjusted in two different heights and is particularly stable thanks to its non-positive and positive connections. Its grooved contact surface prevents it from twisting after assembly. T.Werk also offers the ALU VAR roof hook with a twelve-year manufacturer's warranty.

Well thought-out and flexible: assembly systems and digital services from K2 Systems
The company K2 Systems presented practical extensions for the Dome 6 system at The smarter E in Munich to cover all applications on a flat roof. There will also be an exclusive preview directly at stand A4.270 of the new roof-parallel variant Dome 6.0 as well as the MultiRail CSM short rail specifically for corrugated metal roofing. From now on, installers will receive digital support not only in the planning phase via the new K2 Base version, but also in the learning and familiarization phase with the new online training platform K2 Training and in the documentation phase via the K2 DocuApp. With two new locations in Australia and Slovenia at the beginning of the year, the installation of numerous megawatt projects with K2 solutions and the increased production capacity, the successful development of K2 Systems as a globally active and leading manufacturer of assembly systems is demonstrated.
Several extensions make the Dome 6 system a flat roof all-rounder
Thanks to new components and further developments, the Dome 6 system, which is supported on one and two sides, can now flexibly cover all common applications on flat roofs:
- Installers have recently been able to purchase the system either pre-assembled with rail sets and fixed row spacing or as an unassembled long rail system. Due to its high flexibility, the latter is particularly suitable for large projects and in countries with low labor costs. In keeping with the K2 modular principle, the new variant only requires the well-known rail connector from the Dome Classic system. When planning in K2 Base, the installer simply selects between the system variants with a click.
- The option, in addition to the conventional corner clamping, to securely fasten the solar modules using the so-called quarter clamping ensures further flexibility during installation. This option is also available to planners in K2 Base and offers an ideal solution, particularly for projects with high wind and snow loads as well as wider modules (up to 2390 x 1170 mm).
- The modular structure of the Dome 6 system also enables the combination of a D-Dome 6 system supported on two sides with a one-sided S-Dome 6 row end as well as the use of free areas in the event of obstacles in order to make maximum use of the space on the roof.
The combination can already be installed and will soon be planned even more easily in K2 Base using a new feature. - Dome FixPro offers the ideal option for a fixed connection for steeply inclined and existing flat roofs with less load reserve. This standardized solution for roofs up to 10° can be taken into account directly in the design in K2 Base and the static calculation of the project. The placement of the connection points is automatically calculated and displayed in the assembly plan.
- In K2 Base, the planner can now also add the components for potential equalization to the parts list with one click. In the rail direction, the new TerraGrif PL, which is attached to the rail connectors, ensures appropriate compensation. Across the rail direction, the specially designed windbreaker takes over this function on the S-Dome 6 and the TerraGrif K2MI is used on the module clamp on the D-Dome 6.
Exclusive premiere of the new Dome 6.0 and the MultiRail CSM
In accordance with the K2 modular principle, the engineers at K2 Systems have developed a new, modular, roof-parallel flat roof system based on the well-known Dome 6 system, which will be available at the end of the year and can be planned in K2 Base. As the name Dome 6.0 suggests, the system has an installation angle of zero degrees. The system, installed in parallel, ensures power distribution throughout the day, does not cause any shading on the roof and, thanks to its low installation height, offers an ideal solution for countries where maximum installation heights are stipulated.
Due to the rapidly increasing demand for solutions for corrugated metal roofing, the K2 engineers have also expanded the MultiRail system, which was originally only used on trapezoidal metal sheets, to include a second rail variant. The new MultiRail CSM (CSM = corrugated sheet metal) for corrugated sheet metal radii of 22-45 mm is quick and easy to install because it is a rail and fastener in one component. The new component also fits into the K2 modular system and is compatible with the common universal module clamp OneMid/OneEnd.
Digital services save time, simplify planning and reduce paperwork
With the digital components in the portfolio, installers receive even better support throughout the entire process. “Our goal is to offer holistic solutions. With the new K2 Training program, we help PV beginners with varied learning paths during the learning and induction phase. With the K2 CheckApp we accelerate project recording in the offer phase, with the online software K2 Base we simplify the planning phase and with the K2 DocuApp we shorten and simplify the documentation phase,” says Stefan Köhl, Head of Digital Solutions at K2 Systems, summarizing the digital services.
At the start of the trade fair, the company is presenting a new version of the free planning software K2 Base. With the new 3.1 version, planners will soon have, among other things, a CAD export of the project data in DWG or DXF format, automatic detection of snow and wind loads and an improved parts list with new features are available. The so-called undo or redo function, the quick undo or cancellation of actions using the shortcut Ctrl + Z or Ctrl + Y, makes editing even more flexible and faster. In addition, the new automatic storage reduces the risk of data loss and improvements in the project process ensure an even faster and more user-friendly design of the appropriate assembly system. The development team is doing justice to international company growth with new integrated national annexes, such as those from Finland, Romania, India or Australia, as well as 10 additional system languages, such as Slovenian, Finnish, Greek or Turkish.
“The installer saves around 30% of his working time when creating project documentation with our K2 DocuApp, which was published in June,” continues Stefan Köhl. The app, available in the Google Play and iOS App Stores, enables quick, digital and manufacturer-independent documentation of PV systems. All relevant data and documents from the module, storage, inverter and assembly system manufacturers can be created, managed and shared with each other, for example between the project planners and the fitters on site, while on the go, on the construction site or from the office. The project is finally completed via the customer's digital signature directly on the smartphone or tablet. This means that there is significantly less administrative work overall and everyone involved has a structured overview of all documents. If the installer also uses a K2 assembly system in the project, all planning data and reports from K2 Base and the products are automatically available to him in the app with just one click.
The free, interactive training platform K2 Training also launches with the start of the trade fair on October 6th. It conveys fundamental know-how about advice, planning and installation of K2 assembly systems in a well-founded and playful way using compact, successive learning videos. Each learning module ends with a quiz in which the installer can test his knowledge and then receive his personal certificate. This seals the expertise and quality promise of the installers to their customers. The platform enables even more efficient planning, especially for newcomers and career changers. In the “Tile Roof” learning path, PV beginners learn not only the basics of quick and easy planning, but also the special features of projects with high snow and wind loads or how challenges in the supporting structure can be overcome.
K2 Systems continues to grow and expand its market leadership
With the successful renaming of the American and Mexican companies, K2 Systems has been operating globally under a common brand since the beginning of the year and is serving additional important markets this summer with the two newly founded locations in Australia and Slovenia. Together with a global sales network with over 120 electrical and solar wholesale partners, the company continues to expand its global presence and is constantly developing new fastening solutions.
The combination of many years of expertise and local know-how enables new impulses such as the new MultiRail variant for corrugated iron roofs in Australia and New Zealand.
As the first assembly system manufacturer ever, K2 has also been offering French installers Assurance Décennale as insurance since March, in addition to the classic ETN product certifications. The company's growth and the global breakthrough of renewables are accompanied by a tripling of capacities this year .
“In close coordination with our existing and new suppliers, we have placed our production on a much broader basis. Despite the global raw material and production restrictions caused by the pandemic, we managed to deliver 300% more of our highly sought-after CrossHook 3S/4S roof hooks by the end of last month than in March of this year," says managing director Katharina David, describing the current situation. The easy-to-install fastening systems from K2 Systems are relied upon not only in the residential sector but also in large projects. The two largest systems in Serbia with 826,000 kWp are equipped with the MultiRail system and a 12.7 MWp system in northern Italy recently went online as one of the largest rooftop systems in Europe with the D-Dome 6 flat roof system.
