At CeMAT, the intralogistics provider Kardex Remstar showed its visitors how storage and staging processes can be controlled and monitored on the move using new software apps .
“The future is now – Smarten up your business” – this was the slogan under which Kardex Remstar presented its concepts for smart production logistics. Part of the solution is innovative, web-based apps that contain all the functionalities of the Power Pick Global warehouse management software developed by Kardex Remstar. The system is an efficient and user-friendly software solution for managing inventory and controlling the associated storage and picking orders. It can be used flexibly and covers a wide range of application areas, from production to distribution logistics.
The control software can be used in conjunction with the dynamic storage systems from Kardex Remstar, but also simpler storage facilities such as flow racks. It supports customers in using their storage systems more efficiently; both in stand-alone operation and in a machine network. In addition to the performance-related features, the program attaches particular importance to its uncomplicated application, which above all includes intuitive operation of the software.
Hence the newly developed apps, which offer order pickers, warehouse staff or administrators the applications they need to control warehouse processes, regardless of location. The storage devices can be accessed via WLAN via a tablet computer, among other things. For this purpose, storage and retrieval processes can be controlled, inventory levels can be checked, and reports and statistics can be generated. In short, with this solution the entire range of applications of the software is available to the user on a mobile basis after a password-protected login. In addition, the apps can be expanded as desired or configured according to customer requirements and special programming is also possible without any problems. For example, customer-specific functionalities of barcode scanners or cameras can easily be integrated into the apps.
In the following video, Jürgen Schnatterer, Head of Development and Construction at Kardex Remstar, explains how it works in more detail:
