Kion Group AG is a German provider of forklifts, warehouse technology and related services as well as supply chain solutions.
The company is the world's second largest provider of forklifts and warehouse equipment after Toyota Material Handling and the market leader in Europe. With the Dematic brand, Kion is a leading provider of automated material flow with supply chain and automation solutions. In the 2018 financial year, Kion generated sales of around 8 billion euros with more than 33,000 employees.
The company's shares are listed on the German Stock Exchange under the symbol KGX and have been part of the MDAX on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since September 2014. In 2017, 56.6% of the shares were in free float, and Weichai held 43.3%. Weichai is a Chinese holding company that is part of the Shandong Heyvy Industry.
Measured by sales, the KION Group ranks second (2018) in the industrial trucks sector worldwide. First place has belonged to the Japanese giant Toyota for years. Industrial trucks include means of transport for the horizontal transport of goods, which are mostly used internally at ground level. Sales of industrial trucks make up almost a fifth of the sales of the German intralogistics industry.

On August 1, 2006, Linde AG spun off its forklift truck division with Linde Material Handling, Still and OM Carrelli Elevatori (OM) into Kion Group GmbH. This was sold in November 2006 for 4 billion euros.
Linde Material Handling GmbH is the world's second largest manufacturer of forklifts and warehouse equipment. The portfolio also includes intralogistics solutions such as fleet management, automation and driver assistance systems as well as vehicle-related services. Linde MH is represented in more than 100 countries with production and assembly plants as well as a global sales and service network. The headquarters and largest production site are in Aschaffenburg.
Still GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, is a manufacturer of forklifts and warehouse equipment that describes itself as a full-service provider in internal logistics and is part of the Kion Group.
Officine Meccaniche (OM for short, fully Società Anonima Officine Meccaniche) was an Italian machine and vehicle manufacturer based in Milan. Originally founded as a rail vehicle manufacturer, OM soon expanded its product range to include automobile manufacturing and became known for its robust sports cars and later also for its commercial vehicles.
From the 1930s onwards, OM also manufactured forklifts (Italian: Carrelli Elevatori), pallet trucks and other industrial trucks. This division of OM became the Fiat division Fiat OM Carrelli Elevatori in 1975. In 1992, the German Linde AG acquired an initial part of this area from Fiat and further expanded its shareholding in the following years. In 2002, FIAT OM Carrelli Elevatori was completely taken over by Linde AG. In 2006, OM Carrelli Elevatori was sold to the Kion Group.
On June 21, 2016, Kion announced the purchase of automation and supply chain optimization provider Dematic. The takeover of Dematic was completed in November 2016.
