🧊❄️ In a nutshell: The frozen and fresh food industry gathered at the KÄLTEFORUM logistics conference
📆 Event overview
On November 7th and 8th, 2023, the frozen and fresh food industry met for the KÄLTEFORUM logistics conference in Wilhelmshaven. This annual congress promotes exchange between industry, trade and logistics service providers in the temperature-controlled food sector. The meeting was organized by the German Frozen Institute e. V. (dti) and the Association of German Cold Storage and Refrigerated Logistics Companies (VDKL). Over 200 participants discussed important topics such as climate protection and sustainability in frozen food logistics, while specialist lectures provided significant impetus for progress within the industry.
🌱 Focus on climate protection and sustainability
dti managing director Sabine Eichner emphasized the importance of the KÄLTEFORUM for climate protection and sustainability in frozen food logistics and appealed to politicians to ensure clearer framework conditions and more effective funding programs. Jan Peilnsteiner, managing director of the VDKL, praised the varied program with specialist topics and company presentations and announced the next conference for 2024. The KÄLTEFORUM has established itself as a central industry meeting point and illustrates the frozen food industry's commitment to actively shaping change.
⚡️🤖 Optimization of energy costs using artificial intelligence (AI)
🏭 Innovative approaches through encentive
Aiming for a leadership role for the frozen food industry in the energy transition means being innovative and breaking new ground. That's exactly what Torge Lahrsen and Daniel Ehnes, the founders of the start-up encentive, have in mind. Their vision is to use artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize energy consumption and thus make a tangible contribution to environmental protection and cost reduction in the frozen food industry.
📊 Energy efficiency at the KÄLTEFORUM
During the renowned KÄLTEFORUM, Lahrsen and Ehnes presented their pioneering concept, which shows how companies can significantly reduce their energy costs and at the same time sustainably implement their climate goals. They emphasized the importance of their platform, which is not limited to one system but works across manufacturers. The particular strength of this system lies in the intelligent combination of cooling and heating processes, which has a direct influence on energy requirements and can therefore significantly optimize network costs and energy consumption.
🚀 Revolutionary industry concept
The encentive concept could be revolutionary for the industry because it takes into account the complex requirements of the energy markets and the resulting challenges for refrigeration technology. With the intensive analysis of energy consumption and operating data, predictive maintenance can be planned using AI and energy efficiency and savings opportunities can be discovered. This could prevent refrigeration systems from consuming energy unnecessarily in the future.
🔌 Real-time optimization and sustainable economy
The intelligent platform enables optimization in real time and thus creates added value for the entire supply chain - from producers to warehouse keepers to end consumers. Not only does it ensure reduced energy consumption, but it also takes into account the increasing need to operate in a sustainable and climate-friendly manner.
💼 Business model and integration into the energy system
encentive's business model was designed so that it can be integrated into the existing energy system and thus generate a comprehensive benefit. By optimizing energy consumption, this technology can enable companies to realize cheaper energy prices and thus gain a competitive advantage.
📈 Scalability and continuous improvement
Lahrsen and Ehnes also emphasize that the scalability of their approach is a crucial factor. The platform is designed to expand with the growth and changing needs of the frozen food industry. In addition, the system is designed to be able to learn and continuously improve as more data is collected and evaluated.
🌍 Climate change and encentive's contribution
Climate change and energy transition are no longer just vague concepts, but realities that companies are confronted with today. encentive shows a practical, intelligent approach to dealing with these challenges. With their future-oriented technology, Lahrsen and Ehnes could become one of the key players not only in the frozen food industry, but also in the comprehensive process of the energy transition.
🔄 Trend in the industry and AI use
Their commitment also reflects a general trend: the use of AI to increase efficiency and reduce costs in industry. This opens up a wide range of possibilities, for example in predictive maintenance, automated process control and data-based decision making.
💡 Strategic energy purchases and AI forecasts
AI systems can help predict energy prices, smoothing out peaks in energy consumption and enabling companies to strategically plan their energy purchases. The use of such systems in the frozen food industry could be a significant step towards a more environmentally friendly and economically sensible way of operating.
✨ Digitalization and energy efficiency
Ultimately, encentive's innovative approach could be an example of how digitalization and intelligent technologies can be used profitably for energy efficiency. This would not only be progress for individual companies, but also a significant contribution to climate protection.
🌿 Significant transformation of the frozen food industry
The frozen food industry is on the cusp of a significant transformation that will be driven by the intelligent use of data and artificial intelligence. encentive could take a leading role and be a crucial player in a more efficient and sustainable future.
