Solar power projects require 500Wp and more, so it's clear there's a need for higher-performance solar panels. The industry is working on ways to improve energy output and module efficiency through research and development. Currently, 500Wp panels offer only a modest increase in scale compared to 450Wp. In response, JinkoSolar has introduced the Tiger Pro series, offering up to 580Wp in the 78-cell version and 535Wp in the 72-cell version – 20% more power than a 450Wp panel and 15% more than a 500Wp panel.

In comparison, Tiger Pro has demonstrated the scalability of a record-breaking high-power panel up to 580Wp. This was achieved by improving the tiling ribbon and busbar technology. Tiling ribbon could play a role in increasing the power capacity beyond 500Wp. Compared to the conventional connection method, the tiling ribbon process features seamless welding and a much larger effective interior space, resulting in higher power output and drive current. The more rounded ribbon used is highly effective due to its relatively small cross-section, which allows for better redirection of bound light back into the cells.

The module size of the 72-cell version of the Tiger Pro is quite similar to other 500Wp+ alternatives and fits well within existing packaging requirements, but they have a gap of 10 to 20 watts in power output. Users can see that there is a significant difference in power density and performance. Furthermore, the 500Wp+ module has some limitations regarding the number of panels that can be used in a string, as the open voltage cannot be reduced. Jinko Solar has implemented an innovation to reduce the open voltage in the Tiger Pro to as low as 49.5 Voc.

Whether you either stick with Tiger or upgrade to Tiger Pro, you can gain greater benefits compared to other available options due to their higher performance, scalability, ample power supply, and better performance features.
