Solar utility projects require 500Wp and above, so it is clear that there is definitely a need for more powerful solar panels. In the area of ​​research and development, the industry is working on ways to improve energy performance and module efficiency. The 500Wp only offers a modest scaling boost over 450Wp at this point. In response, JinkoSolar has introduced the Tiger Pro Series, offering up to 580Wp in the 78-cell and 535Wp in the 72-cell version, 20% more power than 450Wp panel and 15% more than 500Wp.

In comparison, Tiger Pro has demonstrated the scalability of a record high performance panel of up to 580Wp. This was achieved by improving the tiling ribbon and busbar process. Tiling Ribbon could play a role to increase the power capacity beyond 500Wp. Compared with the traditional connection method, the tiling-ribbon method has a seamless weld and a much larger effective internal space, resulting in more power and driving current. The rather round band used is very good because the cross section is quite small and has an advantage in guiding more bound light back into the cells.

The module size of the 72-cell version of the Tiger Pro is quite close to other 500Wp+ alternatives and fits the existing packaging requirements closely, but they have a gap of 10 to 20 watts in power output. Users can see that there is a big difference in power density and performance. In addition, the 500Wp+ module has some limitations in terms of the number of panels used in a string, as the open voltage cannot be reduced. Jinko Solar has innovated to reduce the open voltage in the Tiger Pro to as low as 49.5 Voc.

By either sticking with Tiger or upgrading to Tiger Pro, you can reap greater benefits compared to other available options due to its higher performance, scalability, sufficient supply and better performance characteristics.
