The use of dashcams in road traffic is regulated or not regulated differently in other European countries. The infographic shows in which countries, according to research by the ADAC, dashcam use is currently unproblematic (green), is only possible with permission (yellow) or where the ADAC advises against its use (red). ADAC has not yet made a clear recommendation for Germany . The Federal Court of Justice today announced the admissibility of dashcam recordings as evidence in court proceedings. However, dashcam recordings continue to violate data protection law in Germany. However, according to the BGH, this does not mean that these recordings cannot be used in court proceedings in Germany. An individual case assessment must be made in court.
