The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) starts today in Las Vegas. The technology trade fair is one of the world's most important showcases for new trends and technological innovations. Important topics in this year's edition include artificial intelligence, 5G, Internet of Things, blockchain and augmented and virtual reality. Shortly before the opening, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) took a look at the current and not so current “Next Big Things” in the industry. Among newer tech products, smartwatches are currently the most successful in the USA. THE CTA estimates sales for the current year at $4.7 billion. When it comes to drones, however, analysts are only assuming very moderate growth.
