Germany is lagging behind in AI

Germany is lagging behind in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). This is according to the recently published VDE Tec Report 2019. The report states that only one percent of the member companies and universities in the electrical and information technology sectors surveyed for the study believe that Germany is a pioneer in AI. Respondents also have a rather pessimistic outlook for Europe as a whole. North America and China, on the other hand, are at the forefront. There are many reasons for this unflattering assessment of Germany's position, including a lack of financial resources. "More than half of the companies and universities complain that there are not enough funds in Germany and Europe to implement revolutionary technological changes," says VDE President Hinz.
