Germany's most important trading partners

China remains Germany's most important trading partner. According to current data from the Federal Statistical Office, goods with a total value of around 199 billion euros (imports and exports) were traded between the Federal Republic and the Asian People's Republic in 2018.
China also ranks first in German foreign trade as an import country, with imported goods worth around 106 billion euros last year. In second place is the Netherlands, as the infographic shows. The most important buyer of German goods is the USA (113 billion euros), followed by France (105 billion euros) and China (93 billion euros).
