German car manufacturers have an 8% market share in the USA (14.1% in Germany)

The breakdown of the US car market last year shows that German car manufacturers play a relatively minor role in the US: Volkswagen, Daimler, and VW together held a market share of 8.1 percentThis placed them significantly behind the US automakers General Motors (17.2 percent) and Ford (13.9 percent). In contrast, the market share of US automakers in the EU was 14.1 percent in 2016.
