Fiber optic potential is not being exploited

There is always criticism that the slow fiber optic expansion makes Germany look more like a developing country. Compared to other countries, the proportion is actually quite low. However, data from the telecommunications association Vatm suggests that even the existing potential is not being exploited. As the infographic shows, there are currently more than twice as many so-called “connectable” households than there are households that actually surf via fiber optic. FTTB or FTTH means fiber-to-the-building and fiber-to-the-home, i.e. fibers to the house or apartment.
