According to the SCI/Logistics Barometer from September 2021, Győr is one of the top 20 most dynamic logistics regions and is therefore ahead of Barcelona and Milan.
Győr is not only the center of the textile industry, it is one of the most important industrial locations in the country. The automotive industry (Audi Hungária, second largest company in Hungary), mechanical engineering (Rába) and the chemical industry are also located here. The Göppingen model railway manufacturer Märklin has one of its two production sites in Győr.

Around 535,000 people live in the Győr area and have achieved annual growth of more than an average of 10% in the last 5 years.
Győr is located 122 km southeast of Vienna, 123 km west of Budapest and 79 km southeast of Bratislava and therefore occupies a strategically important and central location for Hungary itself as well as for exports.
