Intersolar Europe 2022
With over 800 exhibitors and an exhibition area of 88,000 m², Intersolar Europe in Munich is the world's leading trade fair in the photovoltaics sector. This was evident at the event that just ended, where more than 65,000 trade visitors were counted.
As every year, this spring the exhibitors once again came up with numerous innovations. This also applies to Robert Bürkle GmbH from Freudenstadt, which presented a new lamination technology that, according to the company, has what it takes to revolutionize the production of BIPV solar modules.
BIPV - Building-integrated photovoltaics
Building-integrated photovoltaics (GiPV), often also called BiPV (from English Building-integrated Photovoltaic), stands for the integration of photovoltaic modules into the building shell, whereby not only classic energy generation (conversion of sunlight into electrical energy), but also other functions are desired . The specialist group “Photovoltaics in Buildings” under the umbrella of the Federal Association for Building Systems e. V. describes BiPV as an architectural, building physics and structural integration of PV elements into the building shell, taking into account the multifunctional properties of the PV module. Multifunctionality can include weather protection, thermal insulation, shading, aesthetics and design as well as privacy protection, sound insulation, electromagnetic shielding, burglary protection, light control and conduction.

At the trade fair, Bürkle presented, among other things, the laminators required for the production of glass-film and glass-glass modules. The machines, which can be used from small and medium series to large series production, have large spatial dimensions. Bürkle was therefore faced with the challenge of presenting the large-format systems to trade fair visitors in an attractive and at the same time informative manner in the limited surroundings of the trade fair stand at Intersolar Europe.
The future of trade fairs: Interactive 3D product visualizations
With Vuframe, Bürkle has found a way to present large machines and products to visitors at trade fairs in a comprehensive and detailed manner. To achieve this, the machines at Intersolar were not built using complex technology or as mere dummies with no technical content, but were brought visually to life in 3D using an interactive touchscreen desk based on Vuframe technology.
The design with its futuristic, innovative touch table did not fail to have an impact on the visitors, but rather immediately aroused their interest and thus ensured the successful initiation of promising discussions with potential customers. The 3D product display from Vuframe supported the presentation with its variety of interactive 3D visualizations of Bürkle's machines. Interested parties were always able to rotate or enlarge the products as they wished with a slight finger movement in order to be able to take a closer look at selected areas.
The outstanding user experience was supported by the comprehensive informative elements of the Vuframe solution. If necessary, further data and information in the form of texts, images and videos could be intuitively accessed at any time.
Suitable for:
Digital product catalog in interactive pocket format
In addition to being able to present very large systems and products with all their functionalities in a visually outstanding manner in a confined trade fair environment, the Vuframe technology offers another decisive advantage for visitors and exhibitors: a considerable simplification of the follow-up to the trade fair.
Suitable for:
Visitors can easily download the application onto an app and take the entire product catalog home in digital pocket format on their smartphone or tablet. Exhibitors can also easily send the simulations shown to interested parties by email, thereby saving themselves the time-consuming manual compilation of viewing material for customers.
The app also makes it easy to arrange appointments for video calls in order to clarify any questions that may remain unanswered during a trade fair discussion. This also helps to significantly increase the chances of a successful deal.
Suitable for:
The Vuframe solution clearly shows that it doesn't always have to be big. On the contrary, a special user experience does not have to shine with size. Rather, it stands out from the crowd in the turbulent trade fair environment by making all information available at a glance in the form of texts, simulations, videos and interactive 3D/CAD product models; even long after the actual mass has long since ended.
The technologies developed by Regensburg-based Vuframe GmbH represent the future of digital product presentations in 3D. They take customer conversations to a completely new level by providing interested parties with a user experience that is as varied as it is informative - and all of this at a manageable cost, at any time and anywhere.
