Amazon's new headquarters was originally supposed to be in New York. Now CEO Jeff Bezos has buried the 400,000 square meter project. The reason is protests by residents who feared rising rents and the collapse of the subway network in view of 25,000 tech jobs. With almost 650,000 employees, Amazon is the largest tech company in the world. Other industry giants such as Apple or Microsoft “only” have a little more than 130,000 employees, as the graphic shows.
