Advertising could drive WhatsApp users away

In the future, there will be advertising within the “Status” function of the instant messenger WhatsApp. Vice President Chris Daniels confirmed this. In addition, advertising should become the messenger's main source of income.

As the graphic shows, users are critical of the introduction of advertising and would therefore switch messengers. According to the YouGov survey, high among young people at 61 percent, although the number of users here is significantly larger than in other age groups. Only three percent said they did not use WhatsApp.
