Analysts at eCommerceDB have, for the first time, investigated which online retailers in the United States generate the highest revenue. The US e-commerce market is worth a total of $398 billion, with the top ten companies accounting for roughly 26 percent. As in Germany, Amazon is the undisputed number one on the other side of the Atlantic. In 2017, the online retail giant generated almost $53 billion in revenue in its home market via amazon.com (direct sales only). Walmart.com follows in second place, a considerable distance behind, with $14 billion, ahead of apple.com ($6.3 billion).
