Whether it's networked speakers, lighting, or energy management devices – smart technology for the home is all the rage. As the infographic from Statista shows, this trend is set to intensify: Sales of smart home products are projected to grow by an average of 27.5 percent annually until 2022, reaching a total of US$112.8 billion. Household appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines will account for the largest share of this growth. Most of the revenue from smart home products is generated in the USA, followed by Europe and China.
