For the third time in a row, Statista and FOCUS have identified Germany's companies with the greatest sales growth this year. Of the approximately 3.5 million companies represented in the company register, Statista filtered out the most promising 11,500 companies and invited them to take part in the “Growth Champions 2018”. All other companies that demonstrated strong growth were able to apply via a public tender. In the end, the 500 companies with the highest sales growth between 2013 and 2016 made it into the evaluation, which was published in the new FOCUS BUSINESS magazine (available since October 28, 2017).
Thermondo GmbH, headquartered in Berlin, won the overall ranking with the strongest annual sales growth. The full-service provider for heating construction and replacement operates nationwide and increased its sales from 184,000 euros in 2013 to more than 20.2 million euros in 2016 - an average annual increase of 379 percent. HelloFresh, which is in the starting blocks for its IPO, came in sixth with 245 percent.
Some further results of the analysis: The metropolitan areas of the growth champions are Berlin (represented in the ranking with 42 companies), Hamburg (33) and Munich (24). Not far from the Bavarian capital, a fast-growing corporate landscape has developed in Augsburg. growth champions in 2018 most often come from the IT, Internet and services sectors, followed by retail and e-commerce. An astonishing number: During the survey period, the top 500 companies created more than 47,000 jobs.
