An ethics commission set up by Federal Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) is today presenting its guidelines for self-driving cars on German roads. There are said to be 20 rules, but the experts also warn against total surveillance through networked cars. The report also makes recommendations on how decisions are made in the event of accidents involving self-driving cars. ADAC survey published in December shows that most respondents (37 percent) trust the human driver more than the driving computer. However, one in five assesses the ethical judgment of the two to be the same, and 15 percent believe that the autonomous vehicle can act more ethically, as the following graphic shows.
