According to a survey among experts in the logistics industry in Germany, around 41 percent rated the framework conditions in logistics as “partly, partly”. Another 45% chose “somewhat positive” and only 5% said very positive.
The logistics experts gave a better assessment of the economic situation in the industry. 23 percent were of the opinion that the economic situation for logistics is very positive. The majority of 56 percent voted “somewhat positive”. “Very negative”, “Don’t know” and “No answer” received no rating (0%).

Another example is the relevance of drones in logistics. For 36%, drones have a very low relevance, for 21% and 22%, respectively, they have a moderate to low relevance. You should always keep an eye on technologies such as RFID, drones or other ideas, some of which are certainly innovative, but you should also be able to assess whether they make sense for your company and bring added value. It also depends on the question and, above all, on the industry or product type.

The new 5G mobile communications standard makes the IoT possible. It promises data rates of up to 20 gigabits per second (Gbit/s) - LTE has a maximum of one Gbit/s - as well as higher frequency capacities and data throughputs. This is the only way IoT systems can communicate smoothly with each other and technologies such as autonomous driving can be implemented safely. Another advantage of 5G over conventional LTE technology is its lower energy consumption, which makes the use of IoT systems on the nanoscale conceivable. 5G paves the way for IoT, which will help infrastructure providers such as telecommunications companies and other service providers achieve new growth.

The year 2020 was not very successful for most logistics companies worldwide. Many logistics companies have only experienced slight changes in sales compared to the previous year, if at all. Not the Deutsche Post DHL Group - the largest German logistics group was able to increase sales by 3.5 billion euros in 2020 compared to 2019. DSV Panalpina (15.6 billion euros) and the US Expeditors (10.1 billion euros) also reported sales growth of 26 and 19 percent respectively, as the Statista graphic shows.
Things will continue to be profitable for Deutsche Post in 2021. The logistics group reported a record profit of 1.9 billion euros in the first quarter, more than three times as much as in the same period last year. Especially because the order situation for Deutsche Post and DHL has remained at a consistently high level during the pandemic.

Thanks to the lifting crane integrated into the industrial lift, the efficient storage and retrieval of even heavy loads weighing up to one ton is possible without any problems.
