According to a survey, the metaverse will shape Germany, but it is not prepared for this – Asia, with Japan and China, is ahead of us

The metaverse will have a significant impact on our daily lives in the coming years, but Germany is not yet adequately prepared. This conclusion stems from a survey conducted by the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW). According to the survey, 82 percent of decision-makers believe that Germany is generally not prepared for the new digital ecosystem. At the same time, most of these decision-makers believe that the metaverse will be relevant or even highly relevant for the economy (53 percent), society (56 percent), and culture (60 percent) in Germany in the future. The survey was conducted among 111 specialists and managers from companies and service providers.

A large majority of those surveyed answered affirmatively to the question of whether the metaverse will have an influence on their own lives. Almost half (49 percent) are convinced that it will shape their lives, 37 percent disagree, and 14 percent are still undecided.

“Realistically, no one can accurately assess the ultimate significance of the metaverse today. The only certainty is that it will be a driving force that will significantly shape society, the economy, and politics alike in the coming years.
