China remains Germany's most important trading partner. According to current data from the Federal Statistical Office, goods worth a total of around 199 billion euros (imports and exports) were traded between Germany and the People's Republic of China in 2018.

China is also Germany's number one importer, with imported goods worth around €106 billion last year. The Netherlands comes in second, as the infographic shows. The most important destination for German goods is the USA (€113 billion), followed by France (€105 billion) and China (€93 billion).
