When it comes to innovations in medium-sized companies, there is no way around management staff. Younger supervisors tend to be seen as more innovative. According to a study by Commerzbank, this is true with regard to digitalization, as younger personnel in management positions have a higher affinity for new technologies.
However, that doesn't mean that the older semesters are hostile to innovation: they actually do more when it comes to product innovations because they have the necessary experience, foresight and assertiveness.
According to the Commerzbank survey, the typical medium-sized manager in Germany is between 40 and 49 years old. As our infographic shows, there are more managers under the age of 40 than those over 60.
