Robots are changing the world of work – and this process is already in full swing, as the example of Amazon shows. The infographic illustrates that the shipping company continuously expands its stock of robots. The number of employees is also growing. However, the ratio of employees to robots according to estimates in 2017 changed significantly in favor of the robots.
The Kiva robot, manufactured by Amazon Robotics, has a speed of 5.5 kilometers per hour and can lift up to 340 kilograms. It is used by Amazon in its logistics centers, for example to transport storage shelves. Possible uses and distribution of industrial robots are also a topic at the World Robot Summit starting today in Tokyo.
